An exciting national music competition for singers and singer-songwriters which was founded in 2008, Open Mic UK is the biggest search for unsigned acts in the UK. We were approached by the Director of Open Mic UK to help him generate more website traffic, engage with a completely new audience and ultimately help him to improve the revenue and profitability of the business.
To develop the most effective solution for the company, our Managing Director Mark Tillison worked personally with Open Mic UK’s Director Chris Grayson to understand where the business was currently, where he would like it to be and to get a feel for which barriers are currently stopping him achieve his business goals. This scoping exercise proved to be the foundation for all of our future work with Open Mic UK, so the next step was to complete a comprehensive audit of the current website and social media platforms to understand the demographics of the current customers.
Our Specialists also ran a competitor analysis which provided Open Mic UK with valuable insight into how their sales and processes differed from their competition and to understand the good and bad points that are currently practised by them. This work provided Tillison with a detailed plan on what areas of the business needed to be prioritised to increase turnover.
Mark created a bespoke coaching programme that would help Chris develop the areas of his business that needed attention – these included focusing more on the User Experience on the website, the call-to-action and developing a social media strategy that would attract and increase his audience. Overall, the coaching has enabled Chris to turn some of the business weaknesses into strengths, have a more focused website and stay ahead of his competitors.
